1. Very aerodynamic. In fact so aerodynamic that large flying insects (grasshoppers) get the aero push over the windshield and will almost never impact. Crappy blurry photo sorry.

2. The inverse alien grill likes eating things.

3. The seat is hard but my butt beat it into submission.

4. Wholly gas mileage batman, over 32 mpg consistently.

5. Not grounded to the ground if going over 65 mpg.

6. Base model Toyota interiors are still better than most other manufacturers mid-level interiors.

7. The 4 cylinder motor has plenty of power.

8. Could mistake it for a 1994 Buick Regal.

9. Retired people buy Toyota Camry’s and drive very slowly on I-90 though Montana.

10. 10/10 would rent again.

11. Better than a Kia Optima.

12. 6 speed automatic is better than a CVT.

The Camry and Corolla get an undue amount of hate from most gearheads. But I think the hate is unwarranted. Yes, it’s not the most exciting vehicle out there, but it just works. My MIL has a Camry that she’s had for 12 years now, and the thing is rock solid. The only thing I think that’s ever been replaced on it were brakes. My wife has a 2010 Corolla with 85k on it, same deal. Brakes and an accessory belt. The car is plenty peppy enough for most driving situations, and the interior is laid out pretty logically. I just wish there was more leg room, but that is true with most cars these days.

They are great cars, there is absolutely a reason they are so popular. I am also a huge fan of Prii. I doubt I’d ever choose to own any of the three, but they are great cars and I’d really like it if my girlfriend drove a Prius so we could use it for trips where my truck is not needed. Fuel economy, comfort, and reliability are wonderful things.

I would cross shop this with a Honda Accord and Mazda 6. I think the Honda would give it a run for it’s money. I just haven’t had the chance to drive the Honda or Mazda.

I put 700 miles on a rental Mazda6 and didn't find any faults with it except that the doors sound like a tin can when you shut them. I would have a hard time choosing between the two.

The Camry is boring, but fine. The Corolla pre-2012 is *ALSO* boring but fine, the 2012+ Corolla is an unremittant dog, and reliability ratings or no, is one of the WORST choices you can make in the category. Awful suspension and steering, brakes devoid of feel (and not very strong), terrible visibility, wonky transmission, buzzy engine, and they made the ergonomics and interior materials WORSE for some reason. It’s garbage to drive, hard to see out of, and uncomfortable to sit in. It may be reliable and get pretty decent fuel economy. But you know what? An Elantra is is *ALSO* reliable and gets pretty decent fuel economy.

Haven’t driven a newer model 6 but we own a 2011 camry and a 2007 accord V6. I like driving the camry more, Just wish it had a V6.
